Kate is 20 years old and from Rotherham. She inherited her passion for horse racing from her father, going racing since she could walk and finding her first favourite horse in the form of Trevor Hemmings’ Many Clouds. Her love of racing has taken her to work in a racing yard and stud farm, and travel across the country to go racing, gaining a wealth of knowledge along the way.
With a love for both horse racing and creativity, Kate has always had an ambition to form a career in the racing media industry. The Racing Media Academy stood out to Kate as a stellar opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience from incredible mentors in the industry. She is incredibly excited for her time with the RMA and PA Media to hone her skills while meeting and learning from like-minded people.
My time with the Racing Media Academy and PA Media was such an enjoyable experience and taught me a huge amount about the horse racing media industry and helped me advance my skills, including trying new things such as on-camera interviews. I met and learnt from some incredible speakers and met the most interesting people in the group of cadets. My placement with PA Media gave me valuable first experiences in a newsroom and reporting from a racecourse and I loved each day of it.
