Will is a 20-year-old sport journalism student from Yorkshire with a growing enthusiasm for horse racing insight. His passion for horse racing began at 18, when he first attended a race meeting. Since then, he has immersed himself into horse racing, developing a strong understanding of form, race strategy and how to use data to influence betting.
Through his studies, Will has gained skills in multimedia reporting with a focus on producing engaging informative horse racing content. He is a regular racegoer during the flat season to many courses to watch. With his interest in horse racing data such as timings and stride, working with Total Performance Data means he will be able to transfer his skills from university to a work environment, and he is delighted to be part of the Racing Media Academy’s class of 2026.
During my internship at Total Performance Data (TPD), I actively contributed to the company’s data operations and content production by supporting the At The Races (ATR) tipping column. I gained hands-on experience in quality assurance testing across multiple digital products, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability in a fast-paced environment. I enjoyed my time at TPD and cannot wait to see where my experience can lead me to in the future.
